Description
Namibian Resources Plc is a United Kingdom-based alluvial diamond mining company with a contract to mine diamonds on behalf of NAMDEB (a Namibian Government and De Beers joint venture). The Company has a 100% owned subsidiary, Sonnberg Diamonds (Namibia) (Pty) Limited (Sonnberg). The subsidiary has a contract with the Namdeb Diamond (Corporation) (Pty) Limited to mine and prospect for diamonds in a specified area until 30 April 2012. The Company�s concession comprises the Sperrgebiet (restricted area) in the Luderitz district of Namibia. The Pomona area is controlled by NAMDEB, a joint venture company between the Namibian Government and DeBeers. Namibian Resources Plc, through its wholly owned subsidiary Sonnberg Diamonds, mines the Pomona area under a contract with NAMDEB. The total revenue of the Company is derived from its principal activity, mining, wholly undertaken by its subsidiary in Namibia, Sonnberg.
