Max Petroleum Plc (Max Petroleum) is a United State-based independent Oil and Gas exploration and production company. Max Petroleum and its subsidiaries are engaged in the business of exploration, development and production of oil and gas assets within the Republic of Kazakhstan. The Company owns the exploration and production rights to the Blocks A&E License (the License), which comprises two onshore blocks extending over 12,455 square kilometers in the Pre-Caspian Basin in Western Kazakhstan. The Company has six commercial discoveries. During the year ended March 31, 2012, the Company drilled a total of 17 wells, including five exploration wells that led to two discoveries and 12 appraisal and development wells, of which 11 were completed. Subsequent to March 31, 2012, it had drilled two shallow appraisal wells, ASK-J1 and ASK-J2, in the Asanketken Field. During the fiscal year ended March 31, 2012, the Company produced 1,027,000 billion barrels.
