Hygea VCT Plc (Hygea) is a United Kingdom-based venture capital trust (VCT). The principal activity of the Company is to provide shareholders with an attractive income and capital return by investing its funds in a portfolio of unquoted and quoted United Kingdom MedTech companies. It is required to hold at least 70% of its investments in VCT qualifying holdings, of which at least 30% must comprise eligible ordinary shares. VCT qualifying holding consists of up to �1 million invested in any one year in new shares or securities of a UK AIM quoted company or an unquoted company which is carrying on a qualifying trade, and whose gross assets and number of employees at the time of investment do not exceed a prescribed limit. Its investment portfolio includes ImmunoBiology Limited, Hallmarq Veterinary Imaging Limited, Insense Limited, Exosect Limited, Axon Limited, Arecor Limited, Archimed LLP and Glide Pharmaceutical Technologies Limited.
