Ferrexpo plc is principally engaged in the production of iron ore pellets, which are used in the manufacture of steel. The Company operates a mine and a processing plant near Kremenchuk in Ukraine, an interest in a port in Odessa, and a sales and marketing company in Switzerland and Kiev. The Company also owns a logistic group located in Austria, which operates a fleet of vessels operating on the Rhine and Danube waterways. It operations are integrated from iron ore mining through to iron ore concentrate and pellet production and subsequent logistics. The Company operates the Ferrexpo Poltava Mine. The Company holds licenses to explore or mine a 50 kilometers long strike, containing 10 identified iron ore deposits. On October 1, 2011, the Company acquired 77.6% interests in Transcanal S.R.L (Transcanal).
