Chesnara plc (Chesnara) is a United Kingdom-based holding company. The Company and its subsidiaries consist of the United Kingdom and Swedish life and pensions businesses. The United Kingdom business, the activities of which are performed in the United Kingdom, underwrite life risks, such as those associated with death, disability and health and provide a portfolio of investment contracts for the savings and retirement needs of customers through asset management. The Swedish business, the activities of which are performed in Sweden, underwrites life, accident and health risks and provides a portfolio of investment contracts. The Company operates in three segments: Countrywide Assured (CA), Save & Prosper Insurance Limited (S&P) and Movestic Livforsakring AB (Movestic). On December 17, 2011, it acquired the in-force claims portfolio of Aspis Forsakrings Liv AB.
