The Company�s objective is to generate long term capital growth for its shareholders by investing globally in companies, which have a focus on alternative energy or energy technology. The Company invests globally in companies that have an involvement in renewable energy, automotive and on-site power generation, energy storage devices, enabling energy technologies, materials technology and alternative fuels. As of October 31, 2010, the Company�s 10 largest investments included Johnson Controls, Wacker Chemie, Itron, American Superconductor, Iberdrola Renovables, NextEra Energy, Archer Daniels Midland, Vestas Wind Systems, Johnson Matthey and Novozymes. Its wholly owned subsidiary is BlackRock New Energy Trading Company Limited. The Company�s investment manager is BlackRock Investment Management (UK) Limited (BlackRock).
