African Barrick Gold Plc. (ABG) is engaged in gold production on Tanzania. ABG has four producing mines, located in north-west Tanzania, and exploration projects. Its four gold producing mines consists of Bulyanhulu, Buzwagi, Tulawaka and North Mara. During 2011, it produced 262,034 ounces of gold from Bulyanhulu; 196,541 ounces of gold from Buzwagi; 170,832 ounces of gold from North Mara, and 58,871 ounces of gold from Tulawaka. Bulyanhulu is a narrow-vein gold mine containing gold, silver and copper mineralisation in sulphides. Buzwagi is a shear-hosted quartz-veined deposit hosted in porphyritic granite. The North Mara gold deposits are situated in the Mara Musoma greenstone belt, and there are several types of gold mineralisation, including shear-zone-related quartz vein and disseminated gold. In October 2012, it announced that it had completed the acquisition of Aviva Mining (Kenya) Ltd and transferred to Aviva Corporation Ltd.
