Croda International Plc (Croda) is a manufacturer of specialty chemicals. As of December 31, 2008, the Company was organized into two business segments: consumer care and industrial specialties. Consumer care consists of personal care, health care, home care and crop care. Industrial specialties consist of polymer additives, lubricant additives and coatings additives plus a number of market areas, such as water treatment. The Company has operations in Europe, with manufacturing sites in the United Kingdom, France, Holland, Germany, Italy and Spain; the Americas, with manufacturing sites in the United States and Brazil, and Asia, with manufacturing sites in Singapore, Japan, India, Korea and Indonesia. In February 2008, the Company sold the 46.5% interest in Baxenden Chemicals Ltd to Chemtura Corporation. In May 2008, the Company sold its Chicago oleochemicals business to H.I.G. Capital LLC. In August 2008, Croda acquired Cognis GmbH’s isostearic acid business.
