The Carphone Warehouse Group PLC comprises two businesses: Carphone Warehouse and TalkTalk Group. Carphone Warehouse is the Company’s retail and distribution business and is independent retailer of mobile phones and services in Europe with over 2,400 stores in nine countries. TalkTalk Group is the Company’s fixed line business and is broadband provider in United Kingdom serving over 3.9 million fixed line customers comprising 2.8 million broadband and 1.1million voice-only and narrowband customers. Best Buy Europe, in which the Company has 50% share, encompasses its retail operations across Europe. The Company sold 50% of its retail and distribution business during the fiscal year ended March 31, 2009. In March 2009, the Company sold The Phone House (Proprietary) Limited to eTelecare Global Solutions. On July 3, 2009, TalkTalk Group completed the acquisition of Tiscali's United Kingdom operations.
