AMEC plc is a provider of consultancy, engineering and project management services to energy, power and process industries. It has three core business divisions. The Natural Resources division, comprising the Oil and Gas Services, Oil Sands, and Minerals and Metals Mining businesses, provides services to a range of customers worldwide. The Power and Process division, comprising the Process, Power and Nuclear businesses, provides services across the value chain to public and private sector customers, including utilities, in the United Kingdom and Americas. The Earth and Environmental division is an international environmental and engineering consulting organization. On October 6, 2008, the Company announced the sale of the UKWind Development businesses, other than its interest in the Lewis development. In June 2008, it acquired Geomatrix Consultants, Inc. In November 2008, the Company acquired OEST Associates, Inc. In June 2009, it acquired Arcas Consulting Archeologists Limited.
