CVS Group Plc (CVS) is a United Kingdom-based company whose principal activity is to operate and acquire companion animal veterinary practices and complimentary veterinary diagnostic businesses. The diagnostic businesses provide a service to the United Kingdom companion care market through the early detection and diagnosis of veterinary related complex diseases. As of June 30, 2008, the Company operated 53 veterinary practices and 150 individual surgeries, plus seven veterinary diagnostic laboratories in the United Kingdom. In March 2008, the Company announced the acquisition of the small animal and equine business of Animed LLP. In October 2008, the Company acquired Rossendale Pet Crematorium Limited. In December 2008, CVS announced the acquisition of Harbour Veterinary Group (Harbour). In January 2009, the Company acquired Melton Veterinary Practice Limited. In April 2009, the Company acquired Earls Hall, a tier three animal hospital with three further branches based in Southend.
