Rotherham United Football Club was originally formed as Rotherham in 1870. After turning professional in 1905, the English football (soccer) club became a limited company in 1920 and changed its name to Rotherham United in 1925. The team, nicknamed the Millers, was relegated from the Football League Championship (formerly known as Division 1) in 2005 and now plays in the Football League's fourth tier, League Two division. The team has played their home games at Millmoor Stadium (capacity 8,300) in Rotherham, England since 1907. Their home uniforms are red and white with white shorts and a gold trim.
