Lost? The Royal Institute of Navigation (RIN) wants to help. The RIN is a not-for-profit society that aims to further the development of navigation. It brings together people and organizations interested in all kinds of navigation from command and control, astronomy, mathematics, cartography, electronics, and information technology. The institute supports research and promotes education and communication through conferences and symposia that range from international events to single lectures. The RIN also holds meetings to help in the formation of policies to be adopted by governmental or international bodies in navigationally-related topics. The Royal Institute of Navigation formed in 1947.
