On behalf of its members, the not-for-profit AARP acts as an advocate on public policy issues, such as health care and financial security, publishes information (the monthly "AARP Bulletin" and the bimonthly "AARP The Magazine," and through Spanish language media), promotes community service, and works with business partners to offer products and services (including discounts on insurance and travel). The group is organized into some 2,400 local chapters throughout the US. Royalties from businesses eager to reach AARP members account for about half of the group's revenue.
