EarthShare wants to be sure our home planet gets its due. The group works to ensure that environmental organizations get their fair share of donations. The not-for-profit represents more than 400 local and national environmental and conservation groups and collects money primarily through payroll deduction campaigns at government and corporate offices in all 50 states. EarthShare has affiliated offices in some 18 states. It strives to educate the public about environmental problems and their impacts on daily life through public service announcements on toxins in schools, childhood obesity, and the effects of mercury in the food chain. EarthShare was formed by 18 conservation groups in 1988.
