The Illinois Department of Employment Security (IDES) plants employment seeds and tends to their growth throughout the Prairie State. The department is mostly known for administering Illinois' unemployment insurance program; however, it also provides numerous resources for job seekers and employers. Its Illinois Skills Match program offers the largest database of job openings in Illinois, helping job seekers find work and employers find workers. The IDES also analyzes and publishes information on careers and the Illinois economy, including unemployment statistics, employment projections, and occupational wage information. The department operates 70 offices and employment centers statewide.
