Some health care professionals still make house calls. The Visiting Nurse Associations of America (VNAA) is a national association for not-for-profit home health organizations (aka Visiting Nurse Associations). The association works to promote the interests of home health care companies by advocating on their behalf for government legislation and regulations, creating partnerships with health care plans and corporations, and providing members support and education about health care practices. VNAs provide care for more than 4 million people each year through about 150 different agencies ranging in size from 3 clinicians to more than 12,000 employees. VNAs created VNAA in 1983.
