Not to be confused with Ireland-based European discount passenger carrier Ryanair, US-based Ryan International Airlines is an air charter company. It flies around the world with a fleet of about 10 Boeing and McDonnell Douglas aircraft, including some owned by parent Rubloff Jet Express, a unit of real estate company Rubloff Development Group. Customers have included the US Department of Defense, the US Department of Justice, tour operators, sports teams, and bands. Founded in 1976, Ryan also manages aircraft and leases them on ACMI contracts, in which the company provides aircraft, crew, maintenance, and insurance and the customer is responsible for fuel and other costs.
