ITV Wales & West Group operates two TV stations serving the Western region of England and Wales. The stations offer local news and information programming, as well as national programming broadcast throughout the ITV network. ITV Wales & West traces its roots to Harlech TV, a bilingual (English and Welsh) broadcaster founded in 1967. After being acquired by United News & Media (now UBM) and later Carlton Communications, HTV became a unit of ITV after Carlton and Granada merged in 2004. Parent company ITV is the biggest commercial television network in the UK.
