If you want the NPR in NYC, turn your radio dial to WNYC. With more than one million listeners per week, WNYC is the most popular public radio station in the country. The stations broadcasts on FM and AM and produces and airs original programming including daily news reports, talk shows, and music shows, including The Brian Lehrer Show, Radio Lab, and Studio 360. It also features shows from affiliate National Public Radio (NPR) stations (including All Things Considered and Morning Edition) and Public Radio International. Listeners can also access WYNC's Web site to read the news, download podcasts and hear recently broadcasted shows. The radio station, one of the oldest in the US, began broadcasting on AM in 1922.
