The Budget car rental brand is pitched mainly to leisure travelers and the cost-conscious. Together with sister company Avis Rent A Car System, the company operates a fleet of more than 400,000 rental cars. Affiliate Budget Truck Rental rents some 29,000 trucks from about 2,550 franchised and company-owned locations in the US. Founded in 1958, Budget Rent A Car System is a unit of Avis Budget Group and accounts for about a third of its sales.
