In 2013, Microsoft launched trade-in plans targeting iPads, iPhones, and Android devices. Customers who traded in their devices received a prepaid card that could only be used to purchase Windows smartphones or tablets.
The number of app developers for Windows 10 across all devices is expected to double in 2015. Microsoft will implement various features from one app to the next in hopes of building a stickier application ecosystem.
